Phew! Finally I did make it to the event. For those who can’t make head or tail of what I’m trying to say need to take a deep breathe coz I’m gonna write only about this new machine unveiled by HP at its Connecting Your World event in Berlin. Apparently, this head-tuner from HP’s Voodoo portfolio took my breath away! Remember the brothers behind the HP Voodoo PC, Rahul and Ravi Sood? Well, they had hinted on the Internet at some kind of impending announcement. So, there I was to catch the action.
At the event HP unveiled its ultra-thin Voodoo Envy 133 notebook which I guess will be envied by the competition as it showcases ultra-mobility and a combination of features to boost overall mobile experience. With striking design elements, world-class engineering and extensive for personalization options, this machine grabs your attention for being fashionably sensible - stylishly compact and desirably sleek and at the same time it is ultra-productive.
Only 0.7 of an inch thick and weighing less than 3.4 pounds, it weighs about the same as the MacBook’s Air which I guess it aims to compete with. In addition to Vista, the Envy 133 has Linux as an alternative OS and the Voodoo Instant-On Solution (IOS) that makes it one of the fastest-loading systems ever launched by HP, letting you have near-instant access to the Internet and Skype. You can send instant messages and hear music in five seconds on the full 13.3-inch LED display. Further, a high-quality, backlit keyboard and coordinated peripherals add to the overall styling and sophistication of the notebook. To appeal to everyone’s unique tastes, you can personalize your Voodoo Envy with Voodoo Allure paint colors.
The Voodoo Envy 133 was developed using the smallest available Intel® Centrino® technology. Despite its small size and elegant design, the notebook offers a wide range of functionality typically associated with larger notebooks, and includes Ethernet and wireless connectivity, a wide selection of ports, a replaceable battery and more. The touchpad is gesture responsive, and the keyboard lights up when it senses fingers. It lets you play once the combination biometric-security low light video-conference camera recognizes your face. Cool, eh? This mouth-dropper will be available for a starting price of $2,099 for a 1.6-gigahertz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 2 gigabytes of memory and an 80-gigabyte hard drive. So, rush and check it out at the nearest HP retail shop to believe me.
